I want to see the Ford government create an effective climate change plan that will reduce emissions, reduce energy use by residents, institutions and businesses, and create jobs in a clean energy economy--the economy of the future.
I want the Ford government to make polluters pay and return that money to Ontario citizens for projects that will reduce carbon energy use. In particular I'd like the money to be used for improved energy efficiency for low income Ontarians.
I want legally binding emissions targets in accord with the Paris Agreement. That is the only way to ensure your grandchildren will inhabit this earth.
I want the government to set a goal that Ontario will be powered 100% by clean energy (water, wind or solar) by 2050. That's 32 years from now so we'd better get going. Even if we miss the target, we will reduce our carbon use by trying!
I want the government to end subsidies and corporate welfare for fossil fuel companies and instead use that money to subsidize small. sustainable family farms, so that all Ontarians can afford healthful food.
