I'm very concerned that this amendment hasn't been thought through for the bigger long term impacts this will have on food security, water quality, heat island effect and biodiversity in this province. It also seems obvious that the only reason this amendment exists is because developers who've invested money and find "environmental protections" pesky are using the current public sentiment on the housing crisis to steamroll regulations so they can make their profit at the expense of millions of Ontarians.

The secondary effects are also troubling. If one aspect of this plan is that developers won't be required to submit site plans for buildings under 10 units all over Ontario, then this is more about eliminating red tape for developers at the expense of the long-term health. It's also promoting the wrong types of development, putting a huge strain on municipalities who are on the hook for the added infrastructure costs without the power to tax more.

In conclusion, this plan is a short-sighted, wrong-headed, seemingly 100% corrupt and unnecessary amendment that won't fix any problems it intends to solve.
