The greenbelt is a vital part of Ontario's agricultural and my environment. As somebody who lives right next to the greenbelt, I consider myself a stakeholder in Ontario's decision to expand development into the greenbelt. However, I feel like the government's decision and expansion plan hasn't been very transparent. I also feel like residents hasn't been consulted if this was what we wanted?

The expansion is meant to alleviate the housing crisis, but doesn't seem like there are any promises or proposed plan that the greenbelt's land will be used efficiently to build actual housing that is AFFORDABLE and accessible. There is clearly more to the crisis then the actual number of houses available.

I also feel like there is not enough discussion around the effects of these developments on the existing towns/cities and infrastructures. Would these communities have the appropriate infrastructures to support the increase of homes and people? If not, who will foot the bill to help develop these infrastructures? The developers? Tax payers? The surrounding and existing residents? If that's the case, we have to be aware before YOU make this decision for us.
