I do not agree with the proposed changes to the Greenbelt.

Taking over the use of agricultural land to put housing instead, not only removes necessary land to feed people that cannot be replaced, but increases the congestion and pollution in those areas. Once these areas are gone they cannot be replaced. The Greenbelt was created to protect these areas why would you want to change it! Just because you could replace some of this land with alternative areas doesn’t mean it will work. Different climates and soil conditions do not make all areas the same for food production and water protection.

Also there has not been enough time for public consultation and municipal consultation. Municipal elections have just happened and the people that are now in these new roles haven’t even had a chance to see what this is all about. The provincial government seems to be taking advantage of the timing to rush proposals through.
