I'm appalled that Premier Ford has broken his promise to keep his hands off the Greenbelt. There's no need to carve up this ecologically important land mass. According to the government-appointed Housing Affordability Task Force, a shortage of land isn’t the cause of the province’s housing crisis. “Land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts.” (The Narwhal, Nov. 17, 2022.) The Greenbelt "safeguards the vital resources that clean our air and water, reduces our flood risks, provides a home for wildlife, and ensures our communities have greenspace to explore".
