I am extremely opposed to the removal of land currently protected under the Greenbelt. This land protected future generations from food poverty and some of the worst effects of climate change. Developing it when there is already sufficient land available for urban growth endangers the people of Ontario in the future. It is a faulty decision to eliminate our reserves. Will the people of Ontario come to depend on food imports from China? A society that can not feed its citizens, isn't a free country but rather a colony!
We are very fortunate that Ontario still has the option to be food secure and independent.
