I am not okay with this proposal.

Climate change is real and destroying valuable wetlands is absolutely the wrong answer. We are already out of green space and opening the green belt to development is unacceptable. This is only going to help developers get richer and people who already own homes buy more homes not first time home buyers.

Wetlands provide habitat to many diverse species that are important for the ecosystem. Furthermore they help with flood protection and protecting water quality, as well as carbon sequestration. Destroying these lands will kill valuable habitat for many and release even more carbon into the atmosphere.

What we do need is to invest in better transits system, and to focus on improving already developed areas. The population will continue to grow, destroying green space is not the solution.
