Initiatives funded by Cap and Trade were the reason I chose to do business in Ontario and they have drawn many young scientists and engineers, some of the best in their field, to the province. Scrapping Cap and Trade and the low carbon initiatives that are funded by it has a negative effect not only on the environment, but also on job creation, and on the ability for Ontario to attract talented young people. This is another reason (on top of climate change, environmental protection, job creation, and compliance with federal initiatives) that this act should not pass through the legislature. The 2016 Climate Change Mitigation and Low-Carbon Economy Act should remain in place; it should not be repealed.
