I am writing as a concerned Niagara resident, about the proposal 019-6216. The Greenbelt was designated to be protected for a reason and we've already disrupted so much of Ontario's natural environment. There are so many other areas that homes can be built in Ontario and the only logical reason I can determine for wanting to build on these protected areas are because of their proximity to denser populated areas which means developers can sell new homes at the highest possible price. We need to protect our environment first and foremost, and new housing should be developed with affordability in mind as so many people are getting priced out of Ontario. This proposal is all about the greed of our premier and people in power, making wealthy people even wealthier. It's of no benefit to the regular Ontario resident, and jeopardizes our futures.
