Simply terrible. We all love the idea of solving the housing crisis, but it is truly insulting that the politicians who drafted this Bill thought the population would be blind to your lies. Bypassing essential environmental protections is unethical and will have long-lasting negative impacts on our economy and ecosystems. The types of homes that would be built in these areas will cater to the upper class, increase emissions, gridlock on highways, flooding, smog, etc. Ontario needs more homes built in brownfields, with walkable communities. This proposal to remove land from the Greenbelt is shortsighted. We need the Greenbelt in order for southern Ontario to be livable. Any removal of land from the Greenbelt will decrease the quality of life of every person who lives in Ontario.
