The proposal to remove land from the greenbelt is a very bad idea for many reasons.
The most obvious is that the whole idea of the greanbelt is threatened when you pull land out after a developer buys land that is supposedly protected in perpetuity. The developer makes windfall profits and the
Speculation on more greenbelt lands will of course be encouraged. How will anyone be able to buy greenbelt land for agricultural purposes when it will have development potential built into its valt?

There are credible studies that there is plenty of land outside the greenbelt available for housing.
This proposal totally ignores the climate crisis,we need less urban sprawl. We need
to encourage denser development in existing urban areas.
We need to preserve good agricultural land .
This situation where obviously connected developers benefit from government ties
Undermines public faith in politicians and all of our democratic institutions.
The Premier ran for election having assured the people of Ontario he would never touch the Greenbelt. If he wants to
Change his mind he should wait untill
after the next election.
