This proposal is poorly thought through, has not been costed, will download costs onto municipalities which will end up punishing existing landowners through higher taxes (paid with AFTER TAX dollars and will not add a single affordable home in Ontario. We don't need more multi million dollar homes located remotely to our major centres requiring MORE infrastructure. As well it is being rushed through the process without adequate environmental assessments, consultation with First Nations (or anyone else for that matter) or any attention to the impact on our Greenbelt and wetlands, at a time when we are seeing record water damage related to climate change. The Greenbelt was created to act as an obstacle to protect our environment from profit driven 'development.' This feels like rank profiteering.
