The greenbelt is an incredibly important source of food production, water filtration and provides much needed greenspace for not only wildlife but also the residents of the gta.

The government should be expanding the existing greenbelt, not shrinking it. Paving over public greenspace for the enrichment of a few is wrong, immoral and outright criminal. Once this land is gone, it's gone.

The flimsy premise of the land being required for housing is dishonest and runs against this governments own housing task force recommendations. I can only hope this unbelievably outrageous plan gets torpedoed by protests and multiple lawsuits. And as a taxpayer who will ultimately be on the hook to pay for this governments willful short sightedness, this is how strongly I feel about this.

I hope the government will actually start listening to their constituents and back off from this disaster in the making.
