This comment is regarding the Proposed Amendment to the Greenbelt Plan. I would like to begin stating that I fully support this Amendment to the Greenbelt that would remove or re-designate 15 areas of lands in the Paris Galt Moraine area. I understand that the City of Hamilton will need this land to create more affordable housing for current and future generations in our area. As someone who is starting a family in this area, I hope that my children and grandchildren will have the ability to make use of this beautiful land as it is local to our family, is close to major road ways and will open more employment opportunities to our community. I will mention that I am someone who also supports environmental endeavours, but I strongly believe that with the location of this land, it will not blatantly impact the goals of the Greenbelt and will still allow ample space to maintain the benefits of having the Greenbelt in our area. I hope you will take my comment into consideration.
