Premier Ford, It is unconscionable that you would go back on your word about preserving the greenbelt. Just a few months ago, Steve Clark publicly stated that the greenbelt would not be developed. In fact you and Mr. Clark have not been truthful to citizens of Ontario.

Bill 23 shows that you are in cahoots with the wealthy developers. Lowering the development charges and parkland fees for developers will shift the responsibility of funding the infrastructure from developers to municipalities and hence taxpayers. Our taxes will rise significantly.

You neither understand, nor care about the environmental implications of your ill conceived decision! Once you pave over precious farmland, we will never get that back. By carving up the greenbelt, and allowing development there, it disrupts the corridors that are so essential for many species to thrive. Since you came to power you have continuously attacked the local conservation authorities, diminishing their ability to protect our watersheds. Municipalities will have no recourse to appeal when they disagree with provincial decisions about housing slated for designated greenfield areas.
Please reconsider Bill 23.
