I am opposed to changes to the green belt boundaries and yhe further development of lands for residential use. These lands are critical for Ontario and specifically the GTA: water table, wild life, farming, and green space to name a few. We do not need to increase urban sprawl. Traffic is already outrageous and to add to yhe congestion by adding to communities that cannot sustain this growth is irresponsible.
I am extremely concerned that donors to the party were also given a heads up about these proposed changes. It appears they stand to profit at the expense of Ontario voters. Can we expect reasonably priced real-estate from these builders? Premier Ford has used the excuse that Canada's population will increase due to immigration and therefore these lands need to be developed to accomodate this influx. This is lame. Most newcomers will not be able to afford whatever homes are built on these lands.
Also, given the enironmental challenges the world is experiencing I highly doubt that tearing up the greenbelt will make things better.
