Not only will the Greenbelt development plan destroy critical environmentally sensitive habitats and farmlands, it has basis in unethical and corrupt business dealings on the part of the Ford government. Developers linked to the Ford government bought these lands over the past couple of years during the Doug Ford's term in office, prior to them being made developable. Many urban planning experts say that the plan does not address and fills the need for affordable housing. All evidence points to this amendment being a cronyism-driven plan to pad the pockets of developers without addressing any of the housing, environmental, and food supply problems our province is facing. An investigation into racketeering and corruption must be launched into Doug Ford's business dealings.
