The existing and remaining Greenbelt is critical to be left intact as it is the foundation of our continued life.
The new Niagara Regional 5 year plan put aside thousands of acres of land for development. Just not the land that Mr. Ford's developer friends had already bought up. No more land was necessary!
If you think that lakefront and near lakefront land in Grimsby is going to be affordable housing come try to buy one in Grimsby near the lake. If Mr. Ford's developer friends now can push the development costs onto existing realty tax payers, the exiting home owners won't be able to stay in their homes for the unfair tax burden while rich developers get richer on our backs. UNFAIR!!!
Paving over what little remains of the fertile Lake Ontario basin creates heat drinks, diverts natural water flows, destroys life sustaining trees and plants, dumps more sewage onto fertile soil that seeps into water tables.
you have a duty to existing Ontarians. DO THE RIGHT THING.
