This plan is a known and foreseeable ecological disaster that uses irreplaceable GREENBELT lands essential to the ecology of Ontario to (unnecessarily) create building lots for homes. This will not address the current housing shortages. Instead, it will line the pockets of developers at a tremendous and unnecessarily huge cost to Ontario taxpayers, as well as to the futures of all residents, our children, and the diverse flora and fauna in Ontario.

Stop the grift! It’s an unsound plan that backtracks on promises by Ford for the benefit of his cronies. Listen to the experts! There are other ways to create housing that meets needs while protecting and preserving the GREENBELT. Greenbelt land cannot be back off and replaced with something else. Thinking so is profoundly facile to the point of wilful ignorance or idiocy.

What is needed in terms of housing is affordable, accessible, responsible and sustainable housing that uses existing urban spaces to meet demands without putting our collective wellbeing at risk through the destruction of southern Ontario’s GREENBELT and unwanted urban sprawl. Ontarians value the environment and will protest vigorously to stop this patronage plan.
