Repeal Bill 23.

There are other solutions to the housing crisis that your government chooses to ignore, presumably because those solutions do not make you and your friends enough money. The amount of land you plan to remove from the Greenbelt will not allow for a sufficient contribution to Ontario's housing supply. You could renovate existing buildings, reduce the number of overpriced condos, put limits on multiple home ownership by landlords, but those actions would affect those in your income bracket in a way that would be negligible to you but significant to those with less privilege. By your metrics, anything that supports those with less privilege than you is a "hand-out", so instead the inverted, reductive, false equivalent transactional next step is to siphon off a public, protected resource. The logic you people follow is incredible, and not in a good way.

The destruction of the Greenbelt, in addition to Highway 413, will help to exacerbate the climate change-induced heatwaves we've already seen in recent summers. I do not want to read about people dying from wet bulb temperatures on the news, while members of your government pose dead-eyed and smiling in front of ugly new buildings.

Leave the Greenbelt alone. Thanks for reading
