Re: Green Development Standards
With green development standards new housing might be suitable without major retrofitting, for our future climate conditions. At the moment housing that is being currently built, is suitable for the past, but not for today, much less than 2050.
Given the shortage of materials and labour, the prospect of retrofitting the existing homes of Ontario might be overwhelming.
Increasing insulation, reducing air exchange interior/exterior, producing/using/storing on-site clean energy seem like obvious green standards that might be gradually implemented over the next few years.
The references for these measures exist within the professional libraries, which government staff will already be consulting, so I leave my support for this matter there.
