I have been an Ontario resident for over 50 years. I am dissapointed to see yet another shortsighted approach to dealing with environmental problems that are now clearly manifesting in climate change events. I want to see leadership that develops a real climate change plan that noticably reduces emissions in the province. This will not only be good for our environmental health but it will help people save energy and take advantage of the opportunities to create jobs and develop a sustainable, clean economy. Toward that end I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions. I want Ontario to make the polluters pay for their emissions and then return those revenues to promote clean energy and lower their carbon footprint. It is sensible to model emissions targets that are in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. I want to live in an Ontario that is powered by clean energy. It's long overdue for us to put our eniromental health above corporate interests and retool Ontario for a clean sustainable future.
