I am extremely unhappy and concerned with Bill 23. There are so many great avenues to take when it comes to creating new and affordable housing and this Bill shows a clear disregard of them all. The status quo got us to this point and this Bill proposes that the same status quo "solution" we've been employing to tackle the problem be used again. With all the great minds and talent we have available, it's incredibly frustrating to see that same tired and problem-creating policy is being put forth again. Urban sprawl and undermining our precious green spaces is not the solution. Also, the obvious nepotism involved with developing the Green Belt also pains me and is a slap in the face to Ontarians. Can the government not employ one sustainable solution to save its life? Can you not think about the next generation or relate to everyday people? Your privilege is showing. Get down to our level and understand the harm this Bill will do.
