It is vital to maintain and seek the input of Conservation Authorities. Diminishing their role is done at our collective peril. CA staff has specific expertise and knowledge which urban planning staff don't have. Their input in planning is vital. It is not "red tape" or "a barrier."
Conservation lands - wetlands and wetland complexes, forests and meadows - play vital roles in controlling flooding, sequestering carbon and supporting biological diversity. Some of this biological diversity - i.e., insects - is absolutely vital for pollinating plants for our food supply.
The processes that natural areas provide (i.e., flood control, pollination, water filtration, carbon absorption and sequestration, health benefits for humans, etc.) is all done for free saving Ontarions billions of dollars.
Keep CA lands intact and preserve the planning role of CAs as is.
