Establishing an upper limit of affordable housing at 5% of homes within an area is not enough. There needs to be more affordable housing. Isn't that the whole point of this bill? So that people can afford to live in Ontario?
The notice also says "The changes will reduce regulatory and financial burdens for the development sector by making processes more predictable across municipalities." Financial burdens on companies that create millions or thousands of dollars in profit and earnings for the top executive branch of these companies is a laughable claim. These development companies and the executives who run them make so much money off the backs of their lower paid workers, and they should be paying their fair share so that the divide between rich and poor decreases. As stated, many of these changes will just create a larger divide between the rich and the poor.
