The proposed cancelling of Cap-and-Trade is a terrible idea for my city and the province. Living in Hamilton we have even more to lose than the average city. Being home to multiple heavy industry companies we greatly benefit in making sure that the companies strive to reduce their carbon footprint. This of course benefits all Hamilton citizens by providing them with less polluted air. After all health is equally important as jobs. The Cap-and-Trade program ensures that they actively pursue reducing the carbon they emitt. Having clean air for people to breathe and mitigating the effects of climate change should be important to the Ontario government. I'm frustrated and saddened to see that through the cancelling of this program that this is not the case. You really ought to know better and the future of our children's environment should matter to you, if you care about their health and survival.

There are multiple reasons for keeping the initiatives in place, mainly for funding the following programs:
-GreenON – an initiative that provided Ontarians with incentives to make our homes more energy efficient.
-Funding to help Ontario schools replace windows and take other measures to make schools more energy efficient and comfortable for students year round.
-Grants for Ontario not-for-profits to undertake climate-focused initiatives
-Funding for cycling infrastructure in communities across Ontario
-Funding to improve the energy efficiency of social housing in Ontario
-Funding to help municipalities pursue climate friendly initiatives (ie. Hamilton had requested funding for an electric bus pilot)
-The hybrid and electric vehicle subsidy & associated funding to help Ontarians install EV charging stations at home.

Please reconsider cancelling this program, it was the right step for our collective future.
