I want Ontario to put a price on pollution, making polluters pay for their emissions and returning the revenues to the pockets of Ontarians so they can lower their carbon footprint. These monies can also be used to improve our health care to mitigate the effects of this pollution on their health. Businesses that make money on causing ill-health should pay for those costs!
I want legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. This could greatly mitigate the health costs mentioned above that we now face.
I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions. Those solutions constitute good jobs that don't put the health of their workers and neighborhoods at risk.
