The majority of the Ontario Public wanted to reduce Ontario's pollution and we did it with pressure on the previous government to implement a climate action plan. The results gave us the Climate Change Mitigation and Low-carbon Economy Act, 2016 and the Cap and Trade Program.
I want a real climate change plan that reduces pollution emissions, helps people save money on energy without handout from the government and creates new jobs in the estimated $26 trillion clean economy.
I want Ontario to put a price on pollution and make polluters pay for their emissions. The return on the revenues from this should be used to provide incentives to Ontarians so they can lower their personal carbon footprints. Things like solar panels and electric vehicles.
I want you, our elected government to provide legally binding emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement.
I want to see Ontario become 100% powered by clean energy by 2050 before I die.
I want Ontario to end subsidies and handouts for fossil fuel companies and redirect this money to clean energy solutions that will create the kind of Ontario where all Ontarians can live in a healthy environment and be proud of it.
Bill 4 is a big step backwards. It is not Progressive as your party is suppose to be. I hope your party will see what is really good for Ontario and not sell us into the dark ages where only money for large corporations counts. There are more jobs provided by small to medium businesses than all the large corporations provide. You should start milking them by scrapping Bill 4 and expanding upon the current Cap and Trade Program to make yourselves look like you invented it and look like the heros. Passing Bill 4 will be another nail in your party coffin for the next election.
