I am completely against having these floating accommodations on our lakes and rivers.
There are many concerns including the degradation of water quality, wildlife, privacy, safety and aesthetics in this precious environment.
As a shoreline property owner, I am expected to keep the shoreline as pristine and natural as possible and am restricted in many ways from development or any activity which may have a detrimental impact on our waterway so the presence of these units is an insult.and a double standard.
Making modifications to bylaws for “ camping” is something but far too little Im afraid. Those that wish will find ways around the regulations and this menace will grow unchecked.
