The changes as written have serious implications for all boaters who currently anchor in Ontario waters. I understand and appreciate the need for legislation to control the increased presence of residential and long-term stays in public waters, but the final condition that "camping on water" is prohibited within 300 metres of any shoreline development eliminates most protected anchorages in this province. This deferral to the concerns raised bullet "noise pollution, aesthetic, and privacy-related impacts to private property owners" favours one group of Ontarians (waterfront owners) over another (boaters). This legislation penalizes every Ontario boater who behaves responsibly and appreciates the fabulous opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors just like waterfront homeowners do. The legislation, if passed as written, would prevent thousands of Ontarians from enjoying the great outdoors. Please reconsider. Thank you.
