This legislation will significantly impact recreational boating for those who enjoy spending time at different anchor locations , i.e. Lake Simcoe to and into Georgian Bay. The regulation as proposed would inhibit most "cruising" type boating activities.
The proposal is too broad of a brush stroke and although targeted at concerns regarding “floating accommodations … floating structures designed principally to provide accommodation for longer stays … rather than for the purposes of camping or navigating.” There are restrictions over and above on boats that do not meet this definition.
The proposal goes on to prohibit camping on water within 300 meters of a developed shoreline, etc.” This is not reasonable , how can this be achieved with the different physical shoreline compositions, basically you wouldn't be able to anchor out.
I'm against this proposed legislation, and suggest this being changed to properly address the real issue and not impact the typical boat use, cruising etc.
