As a landowner on the waterway and as a boat owner I believe these changes in camping on waterways are a little too excessive. What is the purpose of the 300 meter from shore restriction? I have watched many boats anchor close to shore and the people on those boats enjoy swimming, teaching children to swim in the shallow water and use it as a means to meet and socialize with their fellow boaters and fellow Canadians. As a landowner I am aware that ownership is only to the high water level and the crown owns the land below. This waterway should be enjoyed by all my fellow Canadians. I understand that there are some boaters that abuse the right to anchor (noise complaints) but I also know that there are landowners that believe they own the water adjacent to their property and abuse their fellow Canadians with abusive language, noise, lights and even use their own watercraft to deter their fellow Canadians from enjoying their right to the waterways.
