As the owner of a sailboat that cruises around Lake Ontario and beyond, I think the 300m rule would be excessive. I suspect that is being driven by land owners, but as someone that uses the waterways and many times have to tuck in to avoid weather, 300m is excessive. If land owners wish to have exclusive rights then Water lot lease is the way to go. As a sailor 300m is too much. If there are issues in certain areas then deal with it there, but 300m broad brush approach is not the way to go!
