I think it's ridiculous at this time in our history, when we are promoting high levels of immigration while at the same time experiencing an acute shortage of affordable housing that the government is considering more restrictions on what is the last vestige of out-of-the-box thinking in terms of affordable housing. Instead of restricting this type of housing, the government should regulate it. Create marinas for these types of housing, charge for the slip usage, utility hookups, and waste-water treatment, and charge appropriate taxes. Instead of a net loss of tax dollars, this could result in a positive cash flow for municipalities and the province.
Please expend a little more effort and thoughtfulness to your approach to housing in Ontario.
