I am one of a party of four hunters that hunt on Lac Seul every fall. We usually are "camped" for 11 nights at a location that is 52 miles by water from our departure point. None of us are familiar with Lac Seul, so we hire an ex-MRNF employee to pilot the rental houseboat and tie us up at our destination on a sandy beach,. For the last 50 miles of our trip, there are no cottages, two outfitter camps and we've only ever seen one other houseboat. The proposed regulation change would require us to hire the same person to drive 52 miles up to our destination after 7 nights, move the houseboat and then return 52 miles. The concerns that this change is intended to address do not seem to apply in our situation or warrant the burning of fuel required to make the move. Please consider either making a change to restrict the stay from 7 nights to 14 nights, or some sort of carve out for wilderness areas in the far north.
