I disagree with this proposal.
1) By eliminating role of Director of Mine Rehabilitation and transferring responisibilities to Minister, political decisions will be made rather than proper mining decisions.
2) This sounds like weakening of requirements for mine cleanup. Businesses will do whatever they want, see latest unreported oil spill in Alberta. Forcing businesses to have complete plans will help ensure we don't end up with abandoned mines.
