The PC procedure to cancel projects or initiatives without having a plan in place is irresponsible and short-sighted. The act outlines responsibilities to come up with a replacement plan but without any targets or timelines.
The recent statement by the UN on the urgency of taken action on climate change should make this a huge priority for our government.
Instead of cancelling without a plan, put a plan in place and then cancel - similar to what you've done with the emissions tests for cars. That seemed thought out and properly researched.
This is a negligent action.
