We've known climate change is real for over 30 years. This year, the warnings are more dire. Our past inaction means greater action is needed now. As citizens, many of us have been doing all we can to help mitigate climate change. It's time for our governments to lead, take action. We can overcome this, but not by doing nothing. It is beyond irresponsible to cancel a plan without at least having a plan to replace it. Wasting tax dollars suing the federal government over is the most inefficient use of our money. The polluters need to pay. As an accountant, I can't see any other way, until it hits their bottom line. Corporations are there to maximize profit for their shareholders. Without a "cost" to pollution, it's not their mandate to do anything about it. We can no longer bury our heads in the sand. If our government's don't step up to the plate, then we must.
