I am very happy and grateful that your Government is giving us a chance to share our opinion about scrapping ’carbon tax’ and implementing Bill 4.
I am sure that the new Ontario Government is making a big mistake in putting away the only climate plan that we have and not offering any substitute plan instead!
We should definitely have a climate change plan to reduce emissions and help people save energy and teach them how important that is. We should educate people about the importance in developing a clean energy solution. The Progressive (and for the people ) Government should try its best to make Ontario be powered by clean energy as much as possible, as soon as possible!
This government is talking too much about the alleged money they will save for Ontarians and they don't think, talk and act in making our environment and world, safe and livable for the next generations. Who will really care for a few bucks that we ’save’ if we leave our planet damaged beyond repair for our next generations. I think that polluters should pay a price for their emissions so WE can lower their carbon footprint.
Our country is one of the key players in the world arena; the eyes of many are looking towards our actions and decisions. As a country who signed the Paris Climate Agreement, we have an obligation to establish emission targets and limitations.
More important, we have this obligation towards our children and grandchildren!
If this Government continues to ignore addressing these important climate change issues, it will find itself on the wrong side of the history.
I wouldn't like to be in the shoes of Premier Ford or Minister Philips when future (generations) will judge them harshly for what they (didn't) do today.
Sincerely,
