I don't believe these regulations are realistic. I know of a great many anglers that rely on personally caught bait for their activities. The proposed changes would cause burden and/or expense on these individuals. In fact it is quite likely they would no longer even be able to enjoy the same angling lifestyle they have enjoyed since childhood.

I'm all for managing invasive species, but outright blocking these anglers from personal bait is not realistic. If a course was needed similar to hunter safety, that would be a financially acceptable alternative.

2nd, the removal of several species of baitfish that may be confused with invasive species is another burden on commercial bait suppliers. These people are licensed to know their trade and should be expected to be able to identify the bad from the good. This is an educational issue, and not something that should be passed on to consumers as additional costs from sorting/waste. This measure is pounding a nail with a sledgehammer.
