As a climate researcher I am very concerned about this plan to cancel the cap and trade program. Climate change mitigation is necessary and past the point of urgency. This government is moving backwards without appropriate scientific and public consultation. Environmental sustainability can be attained without decimating the economy. However there needs to be a will to move towards change and incentive for big businesses to modify their business models and truly invest in our future.
