Canceling the cap and trade program is neither economically beneficial nor environmentally sound. The businesses that disagreed with the policy have already exited the market, and the firms that stayed have already invested in the proper infrastructure to go forward with cap and trade. Given this significant point, and the addition that having an advantage on the cap and trade industry could aid the future Canadian economy, canceling the policy is honestly one of the stupidest things the Ontario government could do. It is obvious this move is simply to appease miseducated voters, and NOT because it makes either economic or environmental contributions. Please respond to this post by explaining to me what the benefits of this policy ACTUALLY are.
-Sincerely, a deeply aggravated and disappointed citizen.
