I would like to ask that Bill 4 be dropped as potential legislation.
We need our government to regulate carbon emissions with legally binding targets set through the Paris Climate Agreement. Polluters need to pay. BC has had a carbon tax for some years now and their economy is doing well, their citizens have adapted and Ontarians will as well.
I object to discussions of the future of our planet, being reduced to political rhetoric. The state of our environment is more important than a few saved tax dollars. Really.... $80.00 yearly savings on our natural gas bill. What is that...less than $7,00 per month. I am also disappointed that the projects that would be funded by the Cap and Trade dollars have been cancelled.
I am also embarrassed that our Premier is in other provinces touting this dangerous message.
What is the Conservative plan to reduce emissions? Do you have one or is it the same old tired game of tear up what the previous government enacted?
We need to support green energy initiatives and stop subsidizing fossil fuel companies. We have NO choice. The UN and thousands of scientists are not wrong. Please don't follow Trump's lead!!!
BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY.
