Disappointed that the provincial government is pursuing this course of action inspiteof overwhelming evidence that a reduction in the amount of carbon is essential in curbing the effects of climate change. Not only had the provincial government abandoned a market based solution to this problem, which has been endorsed by economists, environmentalists and conservative leaders, but; has failed to propose a alternative program. These actions indicate to me that this government is more interested in short term political gains than the long term health and sustainability of the people of Ontario. They are, through this action, deepening the liability of the provincial government in terms of response to extreme weather events and ignoring the potential business opportunities and jobs that come from being a leader in a new economy.
