A robust and expansive climate change plan is critical for the future economic, social and environmental health of our province.
The clean energy economy is worth $26 trillion, presenting an opportunity for a renewed manufacturing sector. Pricing pollution, through cap and trade or other string and enforceable taxation measures, generates revenues that can support clean energy programs, rebates and other economic measures that reduce costs for Ontarians.

Legally binding emissions targets in line with the Paris Climate Agreement are essential to ensuring we limit the catastrophic impacts of floods, fires and other increasingly frequent and intense extreme weather events. Subsidies for fossil fuel companies must end, and be redirected towards diverse clean energy systems. Ultimately, this should lead to an Ontario that is 100% powered by clean energy by 2050.

Without strong, enactable and enforceable measures to mitigate climate change and reduce our carbon impact, our agricultural, construction, development, manufacturing, transport, forestry and mining sectors will all be at serious risk. Our health, environment and communities will be dramatically impacted beyond anything ever experienced. If we do not act now, it is not just our grandchildren who will suffer, but us as well.
