Given the grave and well-documented dangers posed by climate change, I am dismayed that the Ontario Government is proposing to cut cap & trade, which is generally accepted (including by the recent winner of the Nobel Prize for economics) as one of the most effective tools to counter and mediate human impacts on the environment. I have an 11-year-old child whose life will be impacted by climate change even if we manage to rein it in; if the provincial government continues in its current course of disregarding the environment in favour of short-term economic gains, I fear for what kind of world my son will inherit. I urge you in the strongest possible terms to leave cap & trade in effect.
