A lack of notice of detail in an increasingly digital world is why these little lichens and snails are sadly forgotten. We need to encourage nature walks and get people to notice the small beings.
I am very disappointed that, once again, cormorants are the scapegoat for species at risk. Killing cormorants and turkeys is ineffective, and counterproductive. They are a native keystone species at a normal level.
And killing “invasive” species like pheasants, gobies, and carp is not a solution either. Killing animals leaves room for more to move in. Spraying weeds with roundup is toxic to many species, including the ones we like. Killing off one species to save another is unethical. Humans are the most destructive animals. Stop destroying their habitats.
