The earth is currently in a very sensitive time in regards to climate change. Lack of immediate action will result in dire consequences for future generations. I certainly don't want to leave my children an earth that sees increasingly scary weather events, floods, drought, extreme heat and all the negative associated outcomes. Hesitation is not an option. I expect the government to take this climate threat seriously and create a program that has an impact equal or greater than the previous government (the bar should be high). There needs to be a shift in thinking. A green economy, green jobs, renewable energy, sustainable, smart and well designed cities will all result in overall gains, innovations, and becoming a world leader. Yes there will be an initial investment and growing pains but look at other jurisdictions that have implemented sustainability plans. They have greatly benefited and seen there initial investment flourish economically, in innovations and high paying jobs that attract knowledge workers. Lastly not taking action is really not an option given the science. Another step in the right direction could be requiring municipal climate change action plans and community energy plans. Please think and sacrifice for the future.
