Since the middle of March…

Since the middle of March 2023, I've been doing a lot of Research on what was actually going on with this Application to REZONE an adjacent RURAL property to include a CONSTRUCTION YARD as a permitted use and discovered that there was also a PLAN to BUILD a CONCRETE PLANT that our Municipal and County Officials were trying to hide in the FORMAL WORDING of the Zoning Amendment Notice (see attachment)

And on the Day of the Public Meeting on April 13th, 2023 our Mayor began by saying that we were NOT here to discuss anything regarding the CONCRETE PLANT and will only talk about the Construction Yard which in my opinion sounded very DICTATORIAL to say the least. I've also attached the minutes of this meeting to corroborate what I mean when I'm saying that our Local & Regional GOVERNMENTS are involved in Information Suppression in regards to this Proposal for a Concrete Plant.

This is why I've filed for a Freedom of Information Request (FOI) on April 21st, 2023 while this Proposal was under review in order for the Public to have access to all the supporting Documents and KNOW exactly what is being proposed in regards to this CNL CONCRETE PLANT before it is given the go-ahead?

Based on these Facts, I claim that the Residents of Chalk River were NOT PROPERLY NOTIFIED or CONSULTED regarding this proposed CONCRETE PLANT in our Community and that our RIGHTS under the Environmental Bill of Rights have been VIOLATED. So on behalf of everyone who lives here, I DEMAND that we have a Public Hearing on this MATTER so that we can express our CONCERNS, ASK QUESTIONS and discuss the ISSUES in person because in a DEMOCRACY, posting comments on a Website is not the SAME THING as a good old fashion PUBLIC MEETING!!!
