I am firmly against the Ontario government canceling the cap and trade program. Study after study after study shows that putting a price on carbon is the most effective and easiest way of reducing carbon pollution — from reports produced by the Ecofiscal Commission and the Sustainable Canada Dialogues to Mark Jacobson & co’s research. This is indeed a market-based solution.

Climate change is the defining issue of our time, and Ontario could be a huge leader in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It will Drive economic growth and position us with a competitive edge in the coming years and decades.

Do not cancel cap and trade!
